Creative and dedicated Architectural Engineer. Won 2 scholarships to study Hospitality in Canada and an engineering masters in the UK. Third place winner for the communications contest at the Solar Decathlon Middle East & EXPO Dubai 2021. Featured twice in Telemetro Panama for the Bright Minds program. President of the Solar Decathlon Society for 2 years and guest Speaker for the EGIS HW Department. Watt a Legend recognition and Diamond graduate award because of volunteering over 500 hours. Judge Panel for the COYO sustainable competition in the UK. Now seeking to use the skills learnt to move into a graduate engineering role.

"Jairis worked with me on an energy assessment and sustainability project for NHS Grampian. This work was an industrial placement as part of her MSc at Herriot-Watt University. The aim of this work was to establish baseline values for the operational carbon footprint of an Endoscope Decontamination Unit (EDU) including energy and water use to assist with the implementation of NHSScotland’s Net Zero policy. This was especially challenging as the EDU is a highly specialist area with very tight design constraints. This work had to comply with all national building codes and the specifications of the National Services Scotland, Scottish Planning Note 13 Part 3 which gives design and operational requirements for NHS Scotland’s EDUs. Due to the limited timeframe (12 weeks) and the scale of the work involved a team was gathered to work on different elements of the project. Jairis worked well as part of the team and demonstrated excellent project management skills. I was very impressed with the professional approach taken by Jairis, her understanding of the requirements for the job and how quickly she was able to organise the work"

"I’ve been lucky enough to be Jairis’ personal tutor as well as Director of Studies for her programme and her colleague at Team ESTEEM. Jairis joined us in 2018, direct to year 2, and immediately made an impression. She was engaged, enthusiastic and in every way a great team-player in the year, proactive in classes and a great spokesperson for her class. Jairis took on a major role with Team ESTEEM, the Solar Decathlon team, volunteering to take on Marketing, Media and Communications lead. She held this role for a number of years, developing a huge team working with her, and demonstrating excellent delegation, motivational and leadership skills. Her team was successful in winning awards in the main competition and also from third parties. Ultimately, the elements Jairis managed ended up being the most successful parts of the Team ESTEEM experience, and so much of this is down to her insight, dedication and brilliance. Jairis has been shortlisted for the Engineering Talent Awards ‘Engineering Student of the Year’, a massive individual achievements and richly well-deserved. Her enthusiasm and communications skills and second-to-none; and her skill and passion for engineering, academic excellence, and drive to succeed, make her an extraordinary graduate. "Jairis worked as part of the events team at St Cecilia’s Hall & Music Museum planning, marketing & managing some of the public programme, most notably, the Three on A Thursday series. Jairis is wonderful to work with, genuine passion to excel for audience experience.
